I spent this holiday pretty much exactly how I wanted it. Minus all the class and work stuff, my guy and I snuggled, ate some pizza and drank wine with fruit in it. We listened to a lot of Al Green and napped too, and I can’t think of anything else I would’ve rather done today.
I feel lucky to have someone like Mikey as my best friend and person I love. It’s pretty cool that he feels the same way about me too. I don’t know anyone else who can join me in making so many stupid ’90s pop culture references in a day or who can educate me about Devo, Pokemon and Weird Al like he can.
I’ve learned a lot from the relationships I’ve been in and guys I’ve dated/had “things” with (mostly what NOT to do), but this is the first time I’ve learned what it’s like to actually be loved and respected for each and every part of who I genuinely am. That’s a wonderful feeling, and I hope even the most cynical people get to experience it in their lives. I’m right there with you, and I can tell you it makes your outlook on life so much better.
Anyway, I’ll cut out the cheesiness. I just wanted to say that today was nice, and I’m not so bitter about humanity anymore. Well, I still am, but at least I have someone close to me who feels the same way.
